About the night class
As part of the exhibition The Valley by Fabrice Hyber, the Fondation Cartier invites obstetrician-gynecologist Laura Berlingo, and dancer and choreographer François Chaignaud to participate in the Voices of the Valley evening class series. Within the exhibition spaces, the two guest speakers discuss the hypotheses proposed by Fabrice Hyber in his paintings before a live audience.
Over the course of this evening, based on the work Je sais n° 5, Laura Berlingo and François Chaignaud go from theoretical expertise to practical knowledge taking inspiration from poet Pierre Giquel’s expression: “You were given a body, spread it around!” and discuss themes like dance, sexuality and its representation, and the exploration of the body’s potential.
This live discussion will be broadcast simultaneously on the websites of the Fondation Cartier and *Duuu Radio, and in the form of podcasts via the main platforms.

Laura BerlingoLaura Berlingo is an obstetrician-gynecologist, specializing in sexual health and assistance for women victims of violence. She worked at the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris where she participated in the establishment of a Maison des Femmes (women’s center). She is currently a freelance doctor. A professor at Sorbonne University, she created the “Sexual Health for All” Diploma which aims to explore sexual health and the struggle against violence, in particular gender-based violence. An advocate of sex education, she became known to the general public with the podcast “Coucou le Q” where she discussed issues of sexuality with teenagers. She is also very active on Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. She is the author of an essay entitled Une sexualité à soi, published in January 2021 by Les Arènes, where she calls for a sexuality freed from norms.

François ChaignaudGraduating in 2003 from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, François Chaignaud has danced for several renowned choreographers (Alain Buffard, Boris Charmatz, Emmanuelle Huynh…). Since his first piece in 2004, he has attempted to make dance a form of global expression marked by the articulation of song and dance (Думи мої), influenced by an in-depth relationship to history, in both his creations and collaborations. From 2005 to 2016, with Cecilia Bengolea he created several outstanding shows presented all over the world. In 2021, he founded Mandorle Productions, advocating an artistic approach based on cooperation with a whole host of artists (Nino Laisné, Marie-Pierre Brébant, Akaji Maro, Dominique Brun, etc.). He also creates pieces for large groups of performers as t u m u l u s with Geoffroy Jourdain (2022). He is currently preparing Mirlitons with beatboxer Aymeric Hainaux. He is an associate artist at Bonlieu Scène Nationale in Annecy, at Chaillot, Théâtre National de la Danse and at Maison de la Danse in Lyon.

This ticket includes access to the evening class on the date chosen when booking, as well as entry to the exhibition that same day from 5pm.
The evening classes are broadcast live on the websites of the Fondation Cartier and *Duuu Radio, before being made available in the form of podcasts.
