About the night class
As part of the exhibition The Valley by Fabrice Hyber, the Fondation Cartier invites Cyril Bonan, lawyer, and Laure Soulier, lecturer and researcher with the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics, to participate in the Voices of the Valley evening series. Within the exhibition spaces, the two guest speakers discuss the hypotheses proposed by Fabrice Hyber in his paintings before a live audience.
Over the course of this evening, Cyril Bonan and Laure Soulier will offer a definition of “Artificial Intelligence” and “deep learning”, while exposing the questions that such technology raises in terms of law, justice, and teaching. Referring to Hyber’s works like Incarnation, Inconnu.net, Nouvelle répartition du monde, and The Other Way, they will explore the notions of learning, humanity, and intelligence.
This live discussion will be broadcast simultaneously on the websites of the Fondation Cartier and *Duuu Radio, and in the form of podcasts via the main platforms.

Cyril BonanA lawyer, Cyril Bonan is a partner at the independent Parisian law firm Darrois Villey Maillot Brochier, which he joined in 2000. He heads the litigation department and specializes in complex business law litigation (judicial, arbitration, and criminal). He has intervened in numerous international disputes and arbitrations. Cyril Bonan also works in the fields of intellectual property, particularly on issues relating to the art world. He was elected second Secretary of the Conférence du Barreau de Paris in 2006.

Laure SoulierLaure Soulier is a lecturer at the Sorbonne Université with the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics (ISIR). A member of the “Machine Learning for Information Access” team, she is interested in the issues of information retrieval and automatic language processing, and proposes models based on machine learning and neural language models. Her work covers many fields of application, including conversational information retrieval (work funded by ANR JCJC of which she is the coordinator), and the generation of texts from structured data, or continuous learning.

Access to the classroom where the evening class is held upon presentation of the exhibition ticket.
This ticket includes access to the evening class on the date chosen when booking, as well as entry to the exhibition that same day from 5pm.
The evening classes are broadcast live on the websites of the Fondation Cartier and *Duuu Radio, before being made available in the form of podcasts.
Latecomers will not be allowed access to the event so as not to disturb the speakers or interfere with the audio recording.
