Agnès Varda in the 21st Century

Following a career as a photographer and a film-maker, Agnès Varda talks about the third phase of her career, as a visual artist.

Since 2000, she has produced documentaries using new digital technologies, as well as creating a multimedia artwork with installations combining 35mm film, video, photography and movement.

In 2006, Hervé Chandès invited Agnès Varda for her first large exhibition at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain. The exhibition was called L’Île et Elle.

Tonight, the pair will share their thoughts on art and cinema, and Agnès Varda will recount her anecdotes about the making of her different projects.
