About the activity
Children will discover the magical and astonishing history of the cyanotype, a longstanding photographic process resulting in a monochromatic negative image. Drawing inspiration from Graciela Iturbide’s photos around the Day of the Dead, the children will have the chance to make an original art work. On an A3 sheet, they will be free to compose their creation using the various accessories (bird feathers, skulls, Mexican motifs, lace and plants) available to them. Each child will bring home their cyanotype decorated with the Día de los muertos symbols so dear to the photographer.
