About the publication
In 1988, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain devoted its second “Ateliers en liberté” to contemporary Danish art, with 17 artists selected to present the artistic diversity of their country. Dominated by the prevailing spirit of discovering international art at the time, this exhibition did not set out to be an exhaustive demonstration. On the contrary, it offered visitors a journey to the heart of an artistic landscape little known to the French public. The catalog of the exhibition Danemark 88: 17 artistes danois looks at the event from another angle by offering a portrait of each of these artists alongside reproductions of their works. |
