This new publication traces, in 250 black-and-white photographs, the desert as seen by Raymond Depardon through 60 years of political reporting, photographic commissions, film shoots, and personal explorations in North Africa and the Middle East. Eleven countries, their landscapes, peoples, and conflicts, immortalized in black and white by a legend of photojournalism.
On the occasion of the Rencontres d’Arles, the Fondation Cartier is offering, on Tuesday, July 8 at 4 p.m. at the École nationale supérieure de la photographie, a conversation with Raymond Depardon and Kamel Daoud hosted by Stéphane Paoli, followed by a signing of this new book.
